Frequently Asked Questions

What is Boudoir Photography?

The term "Boudoir" is a french word for a woman's dressing room. Boudoir photography is photographs of women in lingerie.  By investing in portraiture of ourselves, we can capture and document our beauty to treasure for a lifetime.

Who does Boudoir, do women always do it for their loved one?

No! I would say 50% of my clients do it for themselves, my favorite this is when clients see their images and cry, and realize how gorgeous they are, and now have something physical to prove it to themselves.

I have a little problem area that I don't like about by body - is there anything you can do?

Regardless of age or body type, I specialize in offering all women an incredible opportunity to commission their own personal collection of stunning, modern boudoir portraits. Every woman is very different and has something incredible to capture. My beauty retouching includes skin perfecting, body contouring and feature enhancement. Every detail is covered from wrinkles to acne, scars, cellulite and stretch marks. You don't have to worry about these little imperfections. I have everything covered.

Touch ups are done on all printed products such as large prints, calendars, and albums.

Do you provide hair and makeup services?

Yes! I have a wonderful Hair and Make up Lady I work with. Her services are included in specified packages and can also be as add on service.

Where will the shoot be?

I typically shoot in my studio South Lyon, Michigan studio but I also shoot at your home, a secluded location outdoors.

I'm a little uncomfortable about nudity

Nudity is certainly not necessary and I will not push you to go further than you feel comfortable with. Sexy isn't always about how much you show, it's all about how you show it! Most men feel that leaving something to the imagination is much sexier than baring it all.

Do you need a deposit to reserve my photo shoot?

Yes, I need a non-refundable session fee and a signed agreement to reserve your photo shoot. Easy online booking is available.

Who is on set?

Tracey Hill Photography is a women only environment. During your session—only you and I. During the prep time, if you have requested there will be your Makeup/Hair stylist. I also have a assistant, Melissa,  who sometimes works with me.

Do you provide the outfits or is that something I would provide?

You provide your own outfits, I do have a few items that we can use. I usually suggest at least 2 different sets of lingerie, and heels, even if you can't walk in them! Make sure everything is comfortable.

What should I wear?
